Cost Management:

Cost Management is a LEFTFIELD specialty. For many clients we provide Cost Management and Reporting services exclusively.

We believe an owner should understand, at all times, where they stand with respect to project budget. Our accurate and comprehensive forecast tracks spent-to-date, commitments, and anticipated costs so we can report in a timely fashion on variances between the forecasted cost and the original budget.

Our focus on providing you with the most cost information possible as soon as possible means we can effectively plan and control the cost of construction projects. We are also particularly skilled at making formal project status presentations to other stakeholders such as senior faculty, boards, or committees.

You need to know what’s going on, and so do your stakeholders. LEFTFIELD’s project reporting services are specifically designed to update the owner on all aspects of the project, and to report more broadly to senior management, boards, and committees. Our reports can include:

  • Cost control
  • Funding progress
  • Permitting/approval progress
  • Construction progress
  • MBE/WBE progress
  • Status of change orders by origin (Owner change, E&O, Unforeseen, etc)
  • Allowance update

Actual construction in place per the CM’s monthly payment application versus the cash flow established for the project.

Our reports can also identify variances on a month-to-month basis, with an explanation of their origin, with accompanying suggested of ways to mitigate their potential negative impact on the project budget.
