LeftField was hired to manage the Feasibility Study and Schematic Design process for the William H. Galvin Middle School in Canton, MA in 2023. The project was approved by the Town in December 2024 and is currently in the Construction Documents phase.

The new 218,350 SF building will serve 1020 students in grades 5 through 8 on the same site as the existing Galvin Middle School. The existing school will remain in operation during construction and will be demolished once the new building is occupied. The new school will help alleviate overcrowding at the Town’s three elementary schools and expand programming offered to more Canton students by bringing the 5th grade up to the middle school level. To support Canton’s strong commitment to the performing arts and athletics, the Town has decided to include an 800-seat auditorium and larger gymnasium in the project.

The new school is expected to open in Fall 2028 with site and field construction to be completed by the start of the following school year.
